SCHOOL SUPPLIES

MARISA TORRES

I really like the idea of packaging my publications so as they can be stored safely. i really like how this design not only has paper based products but also incorporates a compartment for pens pencils and other tools. i feel that something like this would be a great addition to my books as students would be happy to recie these kinds of useful items. i really like the use of raw cardboard for the min structure giving an industrial feel. Yet the decorative belly bad adds a style and personality that corresponds this the design of content inside.

A VERY PALEO THANKSGIVING

PATRICK MOORE

I like the style of these simple illustrative items of food. the simple structures along with the consistent colour scheme gives uniformity. this is something that i could experiment with when displaying food items.

LIGHT READING

NICO GIBSON

I love here how the strong, vivid photographic imagery takes up the whole page and serves as a background the minimal descriptive text. the way in which simple things are brought out in the pictures give the a great depth. The play on words and visual on the front cover is also very simple yet clever and appealing making you want to see what is in side. I am looking to have the cover of my book to be simple so as when it is opened the reader is slightly surprised at what it inside and i think that this book does that very well as you are not expecting the bright and beautiful imagery.

BETWEEN THE LINES

BERG

i like here how the images in the book are accompanied by a smaller page with all the writing need to explain the content. i think this is a very good idea that allow an image to be shown at a good size with out the type distracting it. having this page in the middle is a good way of letting the reader investigate the image more. i also like how the mini page is printed on a coloured stock as well as a lighter weighted stock and i think that this give s a good variation form imagery to typography and body copy.

I found the blog that is completely dedicated to thing being organised in a very obsessive manner. the amount of images that have been sent to and posted by this website is incredible and it is amazing to see how moony people like to take part in something so meticulous. i think the fact that tho blog exists entails the satisfaction people get form being so obsessive about something that can end up looking so lovely yet totally pointless!
There are many different ways in which people have order possessions and items through out the images on thing blog which is interesting to see. It has are me realise that there are many ways in which i could order my content and that I should experiment with the composition of my photography.

HERITAGE BICYCLES

love the incorporation of tools as well as bike part in this image. The deconstruction method make you realise what actually goes in tho the makings of this everyday object. i also like how the background also plays a part in the aesthetics of the image and this is something I may look into when taking my photos. it is important though not to have a background that could distract for the objects being displayed.

NUMBER SERIES

ALEXANDER CRISPIN

I really like how colour is usedin this organised imagery and how it make you want to figure out what items are actually included.

There are many images relating to organising item on the interest blog. some of the images are very strict in there arrange menus however other are more like example displays.

I really like that the size of this survival kit indicates how it doesn't take much to get by. The fact than many useful thing is life are the smallest gives a humble sense of realisation.

There are many organisational based images that play with the idea of deconstruction such as the page above. I think this is something that i would like to try when documenting how to cook some of the recipes I have chosen to display in my book. Having a vivid visual always helps people to understand more about what is being shown and explained.

ORGANISED OBJECTS / PINTEREST

ORGANISED OBJECTS

These simple illustrations are very bold. I like that even though they are many up of simple lines shapes and structures , they are still very recognisable to any individual that study Graphic design. I also think that the facts that these images are monochrome also ads to the straight of the illustrations.

IMAGE FROM BROOKLYN COMPANY BEST MADE

This image has been potoshped. As you can see, each item is at different proportions and sizes in comparison to what the would look like if actually placed next to each other. I feel that this type of approach is to superficial and that it takes away from the idea of being obsessively organised as you have the the computer do it for you.

GÖTEBORGSTRYCKERIE

I really like this style of machine sewn binding. I like how the pages remain frat as they have been sliced down the middle. I think that having a book in this kind of format gives a cleaner and more clinical appearance rather than having book pages played every where.

SEPTEMBER INDUSTRY

HINTERLAND

Using patterns is something I wanted to experiment with in my book. I feel that because most of my pages will be photo based., having a reoccurring pattern with help soften the appearance of the boo as well as giving it character like the book shown above. I the bright colours whorl very well in this book when pair with this off white stock

BLEED - AGENCY

I like the idea of having a belly band around my book  to keep the page edges a little safer from scuffing and bending. This will also give my room to add decoration to the finish of my book.

EGO BK

PELONIO

Here the mini page method has been used however they are there to let the reader jot down notes. (like you would want to write on this amazing piece of work!). I really like the concept of this as it allows the reader of the book to add t=something personal which then makes the book personal to themselves.

SANDLE STICH BINDING TUTORIAL

I do like the simple and discrete finish this style of binding gives however because it is a single stitch the pages flare out which is not the look I want for my finished product. i also feel that due top the amount of pages i am likely to end up with, this stitching would not hold the pages vey well.

JAPANESE BINDING

I really like the way in which this binding method allows the pages to be laid flat. This is something that I want my book to have. I also del that the string shown down the margin will also add a nice feature to the appearance of my book, However I will have to be wiery of adding decoration to the front cover as the sting may interfere. This is defiantly something that i will try when finishing my book.

COPTIC STITCH BINDING

Even though this binding has the pages laying flat, i feel that the about of string that is exposed down the sides too bulky for the look that I want for my publication. I also think that this type of binding is more suited to lager books with thick covers.

'This publication explains a brief history of Croatian Society of Artists together with a photographic journey of a monumental pavilion designed by pre-eminent Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic in 1938. In World War II the building was converted in to a mosque and in 1993 restored back to its original purpose. The pavilion is now used as an exhibition space for all forms of Visual Arts. The brochure created by Bunch consists of four covers showing different stages of the pavilion's history. Each cover is presented through die-cut circle reminiscent of the pavilions form.'
