DESIGN FOR WEB / OUGD504
EXISTING WEBPAGE.
MY THOUGHTS ON IMPROVEMENTS.

When first selecting and entering the Haci Bekir web page, this is the page that meets you. Even though it is said that landing pages are a waist of space, the one actually serves a purpose in choosing a language. This is something i will have to bare in mind.
LANDING PAGE

I do like the logo used for the Haci bekir brand as it oozes tradition and is very central to the ethos of the business. However I feel that the colours used are very garish and off putting.
HOME PAGE
The colour scheme continues and I feel it looks very bland. I think they had tried to present an old fashioned ethos by using these colours, however I do not think they work very well.
The content of the webpage seems very clutter on first glance with a lot of options given from the listed in columns as well as the toolbar running along the top.

There is a distinct lack of utilisation regarding space on the page and how all of the content has been pushed over to the left. I feel that this may be a sign that maintenance of this web page may be non existent.

The complex mix of the logo, imagery and labelling are very confusing and overwhelming to the eye. The images displayed with in the page have unnecessary decoration that just add to the muddled feel of the page.

TURKISH DELIGHT

The issue with the bare strip taking up space down the right hand side of the page runs through out every page which causes the images and type to be smaller as well as more cluttered causing the viewer to scull quite a bit. The images used are very sporadic and are not consistent in style r composition with each other. this gives a feel that these images are not genuine to the company and maybe stock photos.

The information given is not very helpful and is set out in paragraphs that are not inviting to read. There is also a few bits of random and unnecessary decoration in the floral vector swirls.

The information written through out the web-page, especially through the history section has been written out and described very well. The description is vey vivid yet does not go to in depth and drag on. Because the background behind this business is so interesting it doesn't matter that it i a little on the longer side anyway. I feel that perhaps accompanying this text with imagery to break it up a little would be a good idea.
I feel that because there is a lot of information I would have to make cuts to it however I can only justify this when I can see the amount of text in my chosen layout. At the minute, because the text is situated in a narrow scroll box, its hard to judge how much there would look like there is on a larger text box scale.
